Brentwood Franklin Woman’s Service Club Scholarship through an Endowment at Columbia State Community College

Since 2014, we are proud to support students in our community through scholarship opportunities at Columbia State Community College. These scholarships help encourage academic achievement, support educational goals, and invest in the future of Williamson County residents.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Complete Columbia State’s application process according to college policies
  • Be enrolled at Columbia State as a degree-seeking student (full-time or part-time)
  • Be a resident of Williamson County
  • Preference is given to students with financial need

It is important to note that BFWSC does not select the scholarship recipients. All scholarship decisions are made through the college as part of its endowment’s established review process.

Even so, we are incredibly honored to play a role in supporting deserving students as they pursue their dreams. Hearing how these scholarships make a meaningful difference reminds us why this work matters so much.

As one recipient shared, she is pursuing a degree in Medical Office Administration toward an Associate of Applied Science. Her goal is to build a career in the medical field by obtaining a position in a doctor’s office as an administrative associate. She shared:

“My future career goal is to obtain a position in a doctor’s office as an administration associate. My career goal has always been to be employed in the medical field. I am excited to be on that pathway. To be awarded this scholarship would help relieve the stress of household finances. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for considering my application as a nontraditional student.”

Stories like hers make us especially proud of the impact our club can have. Supporting hardworking, motivated students as they move toward brighter futures is both a privilege and a joy, and we are excited to continue encouraging educational success in our community.

The Brentwood Franklin Woman’s Service Club is also honored to be recognized on the President’s Society Medallion Wall in support of Columbia State Community College, reflecting our continued commitment to education, service, and community investment.

Success for Survivors Scholarship

Education can be a powerful step toward healing, independence, and a brighter future. Through the GFWC Signature Program: Domestic and Sexual Violence Awareness and Prevention, the GFWC Success for Survivors Scholarship was created in 2011 to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence as they pursue higher education.

This scholarship offers more than financial assistance—it represents encouragement, opportunity, and a path toward greater personal and financial independence. Since the program began, GFWC has awarded more than $187,600 in scholarship funds to help survivors continue their education and move forward with confidence.

The Signature Program is also dedicated to raising awareness and helping prevent violence against women in communities across the nation and around the world. Its focus areas include Intimate Partner Violence, Child Abuse, Teen Dating Violence, Campus Sexual Assault, Elder Abuse, Violence Against Native American Women, Military Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking.
